Todmorden Harriers joined 270 runners at Penistone Country Park for The Stoop Fell Race near Haworth.
The route followed an out and back course to the Stoop Stone with all runners being issued with a Santa Hat for the 5 mile race.
John Lloyd was the first Harrier in 10th place, followed by Peter Bowles in 43rd and Dave Collins in 78th.
Simon Galloway and Andrew Bibby battled to the end for 92nd and 93rd places with just a few seconds between them at the line.
Joe Daniels led in another trio of Todmorden runners in quick succession, with Mark Whitaker and Phil Cook close behind.
Jane Leonard was the first Todmorden lady in 197th, followed by Sue Roberts in 225th and Chris Preston in 253rd position.

The annual Hot Toddy 8.9k road race takes place in Todmorden on Sunday 30th December at 11am. Entries are welcome on the day and registration takes place from 9:30am at Todmorden Cricket Club on Burnley Road.
The route starts in Todmorden town centre, travelling up Rochdale Road and then turning at Walsden Post Office for a long steady climb up to the Shepherd’s Rest Inn. A descent via Woodhouse Road will then take the runners back along Halifax Road to the finish.
There is a one mile fun run at 10:00am (£1 entry on the day) which follows a new traffic free route around Centre Vale Park.

The Stoop Fell Race
Todmorden Harriers experienced blue skies and sunshine, and a bitingly cold wind, at Penistone Country Park for The Stoop Fell Race near Haworth.
The 5 mile race followed an out and back course to the Stoop Stone and John Lloyd was the first Harrier back in 13th place in 33:41.
Simon Galloway was the next Todmorden man to finish just over the 40 minute mark with a quartet of Harriers, including newcomer Joe Daniels, following behind.
Gemma Kendall was the first Todmorden lady in 42:15, with Chris Preston just a minute behind.

The Stoop | Lynne Edmondson Cowm Reservoir 4.2
Todmorden Harriers took to the hills again at the weekend with the snow and ice making for some challenging running.
Eleven Harriers made their way to a very cold and misty Penistone Hill Country Park at Howarth for The Stoop Fell Race.
For the second consecutive year the 5 mile course was slightly shortened but they still had 1200 feet of ascent to contend with, in the well below zero conditions.
Martin Roberts was the first Harrier to finish in 48th, with Dan Taylor in 59th and Phil Hodgson 74th.
Sue Roberts made it a family double as she narrowly finished first Todmorden lady in 146th, with Elise Milnes and Maria Prescott hot on her heels.

By contrast, blue skies and sunshine greeted a trio of Todmorden runners at Cowm Reservoir for the 4.2 mile Lynne Edmondson Memorial Race.
The compacted snow meant it was heavy going on the two lap course, particularly on the climbs of the longer second loop.
James Riley finished in 10th to take the honour of first Harrier, in a time of 32:29, with Richard Butterwick crossing the line in 37:05 for 23rd place.
Myra Wells celebrated her 50th race of the year by finishing in 50th place, winning the first LV50 prize in the process, in a time of 49:07.

A bumper turnout of 300 runners, cheered along by many supporters all around the course, enjoyed dry and milder than usual conditions for Todmorden Harriers’ annual winter road race the ‘Hot Toddy’ on Sunday.
Todmorden youngster Sean Carey set the early pace as the race emerged from Dale Street and travelled along Rochdale Road.
After turning off at Walsden Post Office, Ian Grime of Newham & Essex Beagles took control up the long climb to the Shepherd’s Rest Inn, closely shadowed by Jonathon Ferguson of Rossendale Harriers. The pair opened up a substantial lead on the next group of runners who were left to battle for 3rd place.
Following a steep descent the race then returned to the town centre along Halifax Road, with Grimes opening up an unassailable lead of nearly a minute eventually crossing the finish line in 29 minutes and 41 seconds. First Todmorden Harrier was Sean Willis in 7th place.
First female was Karen Pickles, who after taking the lead up early on Rochdale Road quickly established a strong lead that she held to the finish, almost a minute ahead of her nearest rival Amy Green of Keighley and Craven. Previous winner on several occasions, Sue Becconsall came in just behind as 3rd lady. First Todmorden lady to finish was Laura Sutcliffe.

Almost 300 runners, many in festive fancy dress, took to a windy and muddy Haworth Moor for 800ft of climbing over the 5 mile course.
British Champion Rob Hope of Pudsey & Bramley made it a 6th victory in 8 years, despite strong pressure from 10-time winner Ian Holmes of Bingley. First Todmorden man was Andrew Wrench in 7th place, with Sean Carey in 25th narrowly missing out on 1st under 18.
Aptly for a race famed for its chocolate prizes the ladies race was won by Swiss student Sabine Hauswirth, running for Ilkley Harriers, despite suffering a few falls on the slippery descents.
Ladies Club Fell Champion Kath Brierley was first Todmorden lady home nosing in front of team mate Christine Preston on the line. Todmorden’s Jane Leonard took home the LV50 prize for the 2nd year running, although the heavy going meant there was little danger of her breaking her own course record of the year before.
