Todmorden Harriers travelled to Blackpool at the weekend for the Half Marathon that formed the latest round of the club’s Road Championship.
John Lloyd put in an illuminating performance for second place out of over 600 runners, finishing the course in 1:16:58, a couple of minutes behind winner Patrick Duffy of Crook AC.
Dan Taylor was the next to complete the 13.1 miles for 57th place in 1:33:32, ahead of Lucy Hobbs the first Todmorden woman in 142nd, and 10th lady.
Simon Galloway stopped the clock at 1:45:34 in 175th place, ahead of Mel Robertson in 192nd who recorded a new personal best time of 1:46:47 to win the ladies v50 category.
Nigel Hanson crossed the line in 256th position in 1:52:06.
Several Todmorden runners undertook the 33 mile Haworth Hobble on Saturday.
Dwane Dixon and Ben Crowther finished the moorland route as 7th pair in 40th position overall in a time of 5 hours and 18 minutes, just managing to keep ahead of the first Todmorden solo runner Paul Hobbs who finished 5 minutes behind. Phil Hodgson was a further minute back.
Mel Blackhurst was the sole Harrier to complete the Stan Bradshaw Pendle Round, a 9 mile circuit up and over Pendle Hill, finishing in 100th place.
