Boggart Hole Chase 10k | Great North Run | Helen Clitheroe Gold 5k

Todmorden Harriers travelled to Boggart Hole Clough last weekend for the latest round of the club’s road championship and left with an armful of prizes.

Robin Tuddenham won the race in 35:41 with John Lloyd in third and Martin Stork in sixth. The men not only won the team prize, but also won the veteran team prize.

Sarah May finished second lady, with Mel Blackhurst taking home the prize for first v45, and together with Sarah Glyde the trio won the ladies team prize.

Lauren Jeska lined up on the elite women’s start on Sunday for the Great North Run alongside some of the world’s best runners, and put in a well measured performance to finish in 14th, and 4th British woman, in a time of 1.17.07.

Amongst the 50,000 runners, Tracy Stansfield completed the half marathon distance in 1:55:20 with Joanne Scholfield stopping the clock at 1:56:51. Anna Brannigan and father Paul finished together in 2:26:58.


On Wednesday a trio of Todmorden runners were in Whitworth for a 5k race honouring Helen Clitheroe, who was the guest race starter and stayed on to present the prizes.

Richard Butterwick completed the two lap course in 21:35 for 42nd place. Myra Wells finished in 83rd with Ian Stansfield in 92nd.
