A smaller than usual turnout for the Thieveley Pike Fell Race at Holme Chapel in Cliviger on Saturday, meant that Todmorden Harriers supplied a quarter of the runners, with the race featuring in their club Fell Championship.
Fifteen Harriers tackled the 4.3 mile loop, which included over 1300 feet of ascent, in breezy and drizzly conditions.
Todmorden won the team prize with Jon Wright and Sean Carey finishing in second and third places behind Calder Valley’s James Logue, who won in a time of 34:04.
John Lloyd in 7th place and Paul Hobbs in 14th place completed the winning team quartet.
Hatty Nylan finished third lady, with Moyra Parfitt also taking home the prize for first lv65.
In the well attended junior races, Todmorden’s Liam Williamson was the U16 winner and Jack Crummett the U14 winner.
